Visual disability
We can lend you the tablet with voice explanations for the duration of your independent visit. However, we still advise you to come accompanied by a sighted person because the farmhouse has several staircases with old and uneven steps. In addition, it is the countryside and the tour route is rocky.

At your disposal is a bike rack equipped with a socket to recharge your electric bikes during your visit, lockers for your helmets and a tap to fill your water bottles and quench your thirst before the visit as well as brochures with some beautiful routes.

- 45 minutes from Florac
- 1 hour from Mende / La Canourgue / Sévérac le Château / Millau / Mont-Aigoual
Please note, Hures-La Parade is not a village but a commune of 13 hamlets including that of Hyelzas. To find us, always follow the Aven Armand signs.
For bikers, we are labeled “Accueil Moto Lozère”. As such, we are happy to provide you with changing rooms allowing you to store helmets and jackets during your visit, a CLEANCASC machine to clean and disinfect your helmets in 4 minutes (tokens on sale at reception: 3€ in the part of a visit, 5€ excluding the visit), the Lozère motorcycle brochure.

Access on foot
If you are on a Grande Randonnée (GR, Chemin de Saint Guilhem) and you do not have much time to visit, we can welcome you, alone or in a group, on a hiking tour for 3€ (30 minutes in average) or a free stroll for 2€ (15 minutes on average). This will allow you to discover the life of our alumni without taking up too much time from your daily stopover.
A tap is also available to fill your water bottles and quench your thirst before the visit.

Martine Sigaud delights us with these funny drawings with which she participated in the illustration of the book Le Causse Méjean, a living desert, published by the Association Le Méjean in September 2025.

Preparation and cooking of old-fashioned bread
From 6 July to 1 September 2026

Every Tuesday in July and August 2026 from 11am to 5pm
Jean-Baptiste, a baker of formation, likes to work flours and come out of authentic and tasteful breads. With the flours of the Moulin à Vent de la Borie nearby, our old wood oven will enhance its work and bring out an exceptional bread.
Depending on your time of arrival, you can help him knead the dough, heat the oven, bake or remove the bread. In any case, he will be happy to discuss his work and breads with you.

You can come all day and alternate visit times with the major steps of bread making, or go out to taste the sheep cheeses at the Fromagerie le Fédou, eat an ice cream with sheep's milk at Glacier Armand and Marie, visit the Keeha Ceramics workshop or the charcuteries of the Farm of Pastour'elle on our hamlet of Hyelzas, and come back to buy your bread after cooking.
The bread will be sold on site by Jean-Baptiste, no CB payment possible.

Discovery of basketry

Every Wednesday in July and August 2026 at 1:30 p.m.
In the club for 10 years, Hubert, from Causse Méjean, learned basketry. This know-how, he transmits it today.
Whether you just want to look, talk to him or try to braid, Hubert will welcome you with a smile and a good communicative mood.

For many years, Evelyne, a resident of Hyelzas, has made us happy to come and tell the Caussenarde Farm of Other times. It is always a pleasure to see it for 30 minutes to adapt to the age of its audience and tell the life of the farm and the subtleties of our beautiful territories through local stories and legends of our terroir.
On the threshing area, an amphitheater made it all, it makes the words vibrate for children and for adults who listen to it with attention.

Like a little peasant!

Every Friday in July and August 2026 at 9.30 am.
See you on Friday mornings with Helen to ensure the work of the Farm! Children and their parents will be able to help redo litter, feed and drink animals (poil, rabbits, sheep), but also to work the garden (cook, but also water, cut, soar according to the needs of the day). Each family will be able to return with the small crop we share.

From labor to speech, looking at women of old
